The 2009 Challenge stallion Auction held on Saturday evening at the Challenge Show brought a large excited crowd a number attracted by the descision to open the event to Derivative stallions and breedings for the first time.
Auctioneer this year was Sean Chapman who certainly displayed a grasp of the job and was able to cajole, beg, entertain and extract bids from the crowd.

By now a lot of you would have heard that the grandstand at the showgrounds has caught fire and burnt down in the early hours of Monday morning.
This is a tremendous blow to the Society with everything in the offices, kitchen and storage room completely lost including the ribbons for the 2009 show, trophies, records, furniture, stoves, fridges, freezers and their contents, office equipment. The list goes on.

To have a horse in your life is a gift. In the matter of a few short years, a horse can teach a young girl courage, if she chooses to grab mane and hang on for dear life. Even the smallest of ponies is mightier than the tallest of girls. To conquer the fear of falling off, having one's toes crushed, or being publicly humiliated at a horse show is an admirable feat for any child. For that, we can be grateful.

What a show!! Best entries ever at the Toowoomba venue with lots of new faces competing. The Youth ring continues to grow every year and the Derivative halter and saddle rings were simply amazing in both numbers and quality.
There were 103 entries in the Dressage classes which looked extra smart in the arenas kindly hired to us by Toowoomba Dressage.

 Humble apologies are forthcoming from our beloved website maintainer who is starting to approach her dotage or perhaps is well and truly in it and did a silly thing and tried to upgrade the website without a proper backup. Oh dear, 2 years of work down the gurgler. Well not quite. The last viable backup is november last year so only have to rebuild missing files for 6mths .

The lineup of stallions for the 2009 Stallion Auction includes past and present Australian National Champion stallions at halter and performance and bloodlines to suit all discerning breeders. Some of the stallions listed are not available at public stud.
