The AHAQ Inc is proud to present "A Breeding Seminar" on the 24th August hosted at Jangharm Arabians, near Toowoomba. Presenters will include Robin Woodward from Equivet Australia (Wilsons Vet hospital) and Richard & Marion Sharman.
The day will include a practical demonstration of what happens at the stud.

The DPI&F have appointed Dr Fiona Thompson, a Queensland Vet, to work for the QHC for the next six months. The QHC welcomes this exciting news and the start of a new professional era for the QHC. The DPI&F have our sincere thanks for recognizing that the QHC cannot continue to represent and provided service to 37,500 members on a voluntary basis.

Dr Ron Glanville, Chief Veterinary Officer, Biosecurity Queensland, Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries has just notified me that there is an outbreak of the Hendra Virus at a Vet Clinic in the Redlands area.
The clinic has been quarantined which includes some 39 horses. To date 3 horses have died and tests are ongoing on others to confirm or rule out the Virus.

The AHAQ is sponsoring the Arabian classes at the 2008 Gold Coast Show to be held on Sunday 30th August starting at 9am. The show has been given an A grade rating by the AHSA and offers an extensive program. Entry is on the day and parking is available in the main arena right beside the class ring.

As the name suggests, the website carries pedigrees for all breeds of horses and the database is actually contributed to by users so there is some need to verify the pedigrees with your breed's oficial registry to ensure you are working with correct information.

The Qld Crabbet Arabian Group Inc will be holding the Horse of the Year Show on September the 13th at the Gatton Indoor Equestrian Centre. The show will once again feature Newcomer classes for Purebred and Derivative and will also include Newcomer classes for eligible 2007 horses. Programs will be available next week.

Nambour Show Society with ringmaster, Leonie Williamson reintroduced Breed Classes on the Thursday of their show and they were well supported by local competitors and owners and trainers including Wayne Beasley of Charaway Arabians, Jan and Bob Neal from Wybalena Lodge, Wayne Backhouse and Jodi Grading or Global Equine Marketing and Keith and Melissa Reid of Reid River Arabians.
