To Encourage and promote the breeding and exhibition of Arabians; Anglo Arabians: Arabian Pony and Part-bred Arabian horses in Queensland.
With these words the Arabian Horse Association of Queensland was formed to oversee the fullment of those intentions.
Established in 1969 to provide a united voice for breeders and owners of Arabian Horses in Queensland, the charter of the AHAQ Inc is to assist in the promotion of the Breed to the wider horse owning population. To this end several events are held throughout the year.
The flagship event is the Queensland Arabian Challenge Show held annually on the May Day Long Weekend. This AA rated show attracts entries from all over Australia and is a must do event on any serious competitors schedule.
Our historian, Lorraine Currie will be putting together some articles from our past using materials kindly donated by the current Chairman of the AHSA board Mrs Coralie Gordon. Stay tuned for a walk down memory lane as we relive over 38years of the history of the Arabian horse in Queensland through the auspices of the AHAQ and its members past and present.
If you have photos or articles of interest that you would like to see here in what will be our official archives please contact the webmaster.
