The Arabian Challenge Show was established in 1969 by the newly founded Arabian Horse Association of Qld Inc. as its flagship event to showcase the talents of this most versatile breed.
The Show which has a AA Class rating, runs over three days and is one of Austalia's largest all-Arabian horse shows, attracting entries from as far afield as Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and all parts of Queensland.
The Challenge is held annually over the May Day long weekend in the attractive surrounds of the Royal Toowoomba Showgrounds situated in the garden city of Toowoomba, south-east Queensland's equine Mecca. The showground provides up to date facilities with the largest indoor complex in the state, historical grandstands built in the traditional Queenslander style, large grassed ovals, an eventing course, plenty of parking, camping facilities and stabling.
Throughout the weekend Arabian horses and Derivatives are shown at halter and numerous performance classes where the versatility of the Arabian breed is demonstrated in events ranging from Western, Harness, Dressage, Arabian Costume to Hacking. The show culminates on Sunday evening with the "Night of Champions" an exciting, spectacular evening of entertainment where the Champion Horses of each section are judge and sashed by our sponsors in front of a large enthusiastic audience seated only metres from the action.
